Latest news and information about the San Francisco Giants.Giants Team Report (Yahoo! Sports)

More than most teams, the Giants are a threat to get no-hit on any given night.
Of the 30 big league teams, the Giants entered Tuesday night's game 28th in runs (475), 22nd in hits (1,080), tied for 21st in batting average (.256) and last in homers (69).
Many of their hitters are new to the majors. The Giants' youth movement is about trying as many young players at as many positions as possible. Fifteen prospects have made their big-league debuts this year, and Tuesday night's game was full of fresh faces that weren't supposed to be seen in the majors this year: first baseman Travis Ishikawa, second baseman Emmanuel Burriss, shortstop Ivan Ochoa and third baseman Ryan Rohlinger.
None got hits Tuesday.
In fact, Marlins pitcher Ricky Nolasco went 8 1/3...
Nolasco pitches, hits the Marlins to win (AP)

Ricky Nolasco won a pot of cash for his first career complete game -- thanks to the Marlins' nearly two-year drought without a pitcher going the distance. Nolasco pitched a two-hitter for his first shutout and drove in two runs with his first double, leading the Marlins past the San Francisco Giants 6-0 on Tuesday night.
Barry Zito dominates as Giants beat Braves 5-0 (AP)
18 Aug 2008 at 8:41pm
Barry Zito has a new approach to pitching: stay in the moment, and stop forcing things. Whatever he's doing worked Monday. Zito won for just the third time since the All-Star break, leading the San Francisco Giants over the Atlanta Braves 5-0. "I got caught up with trying to make things happen," he said.
Lincecum limits Braves in Giants' 3-1 victory (AP)

Saved by the stretch. Giants ace Tim Lincecum struck out 10 and allowed three hits to help San Francisco beat the Atlanta Braves 3-1 on Sunday. Despite the impressive numbers, Lincecum said he was struggling to throw strikes "in just about every inning" and decided to pitch from the stretch starting in the sixth.
