In a season that has been rife with injuries, the Rangers got a glimmer of potentially good news Tuesday. Second baseman Ian Kinsler may not be done for the season.

After a visit to a sports hernia specialist, Kinsler was told his hernia—if, in fact, that is what he's dealing with—is mild. The specialist told Kinsler there are no torn muscles or ligaments in the area. He will take the next two weeks while on the disabled list to rest the injury and will then be re-evaluated.

Kinsler left Sunday's game after twice feeling soreness in the groin area. What was initially called a sore groin was then upgraded to a potential sports hernia, according to team physician Keith Meister.
